RCBS COVID-19 Protocols             Updated Aug 8/23

RCBS COVID-19 Protocols

We are taking many safety measures to keep all our students and teachers safe. If everyone can follow

these protocols, we can return to fun and safe dance classes. These protocols may change at any given

time. We will continue to follow the advice by the Eastern Ontario Health Unit (EOHU) as this pandemic

continues and develops. We appreciate everyone’s support with the measures we are taking. Please use

these protocols when deciding if dance is right for your child and family at this time.

BEFORE COMING TO CLASS:

  1. Change rooms are NOT available. Students are required to change into dance clothes at home.

  2. Dance bags are NOT allowed. Students will put dance shoes, water bottles, etc. in their own medium sized PLASTIC BIN instead of a dance bag. Wallets, keys, and muted cell phones can be placed in bins, as well as a small bottle of hand sanitizer (although ours will be regularly filled).

  3. Students will provide and disinfect their personal plastic bins prior to coming to class

  4. Personal bins will not be any bigger than 12” x 12”. Please label with your child’s name. The Dollar Store carries various bins if you do not have one at home. We also have extras at the studio to borrow for class.

    5. You can attach a name tag to your child’s t-shirt/bodysuit for the first couple of weeks as we get         to know them.

   6. Masks are OPTIONAL at this time.

**If you have any symptoms of COVID-19 or other illnesses we ask that you stay home. If you are unable to go to school or daycare, you are unable to come to dance.***

UPON ARRIVAL AT YOUR CLASS:

  1. Arrive at the studio no earlier than 5-10 minutes prior to class. If early, please wait in your vehicle, as students will not be allowed inside until the teacher opens the door.

  2. Students will be let into the studio one at time, asked to sanitize hands upon entrance and will  find a spot for their bin.

  3. Please let your teacher know if you wish your child to wear their mask throughout class. Masks are optional.

AFTER YOUR CLASS:

  1. Once class is finished and children have placed their dance shoes in their bins, one student at a time will grab their plastic bin, proceed to the exit, sanitize their hands again and be let out to a waiting parent.

BETWEEN CLASSES:

Teachers will disinfect all high touch areas in the studio between classes such as barres, doorknobs, light switches, stereo systems, any dance props that may have been used and washrooms.

WHAT HAPPENS IF WE GET LOCKED DOWN AGAIN?

If the government or EOHU requires us to lock down again, we will NOT switch over to ZOOM online classes this time. We will simply press "PAUSE" on our term and recommence once allowed back in studio/in person. The second term may be shortened if this happens. There will be no refunds once the term has commenced.
